Our experience with Dr Long; where do I begin? Dr Long is an extension of the Master's hand. We consider him a valued member of our family, as he has provided very thorough, loving and compassionate care for our five dogs and for us for the last seven years. We have had some very serious problems with our Golden Retriever, Myla Grace. He did special research for us, trying to find anything that could help our situation. I remember when we all sat in his office for over an hour, just discussing the options, crying, and trying to make sure we had not missed any possible options for our sweetheart, Myla. His compassion was overwhelming. When I have called the answering service in the evening, for an unexpected problem, I have always gotten a call back very quickly. He has always made us feel like he cares for our dogs like they are his own. Broken Arrow and the surrounding area will be so very fortunate to have a highly qualified and compassionate veterinarian, with a new state of the art facility. Now if only I could find a doctor for my husband and I, that we love and trust as much as we do Dr Long. Can't wait till Good Shepherd Veterinary opens.

Dr. Long has proven to be one of the most compassionate men we have ever had the good fortune to know. He showed this when he came to the house to euthanize our Maine coon kitty who was terminally ill. Rather than further traumatize Orson with an office visit, Dr. Long and a member of his staff came to our home to administer the drugs. Then he placed Orson in my lap on the sofa so I could hold and love on him as he drifted off to sleep.

The patience and understanding he had for me as a grieving pet owner was displayed again when a year later he diagnosed our much-loved dog with cancer. He then rejoiced with us, when after surgery and treatment, Trudy made a complete recovery.

He is a man after God's own heart and we treasure having him as the doctor for our pets and a friend to our whole family.

Dr. Long has been our vet for many years (at his previous clinic), and has always impressed us with his incredible knowledge and the attention he's given us and our animals. When we were faced with the difficult decision to finally put down our beloved German Shorthair, Jimi, about a year ago due to cancer, Dr. Long talked with us at length and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our loyal friend. I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to anyone, and we're looking forward to the grand opening of Good Shepherd in Broken Arrow. Even if you don't live nearby, he's worth the trip!
